Prior to founding the firm, which is now Kaufman & Kabani, Jim served as managing partner and was on the national board of a regional firm specializing in the fashion industry. His experience also includes fifteen years in manufacturing tax planning, real estate, acquisitions and bankruptcy with major international accounting firms.
Jim is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he has taught courses for Santa Monica College and California CPA Foundation. He has served on the advisory boards of several companies. Additionally, Jim is the Treasurer of the California Fashion Association.
Jim is an avid golfer and a voracious reader of management science, economics, current events and world history.
As the managing partner of Kaufman & Kabani, Kabani brings over 35 years of expertise in accounting, tax planning, and business advisory services to a diverse client base spanning manufacturing, distribution, retail, entertainment, technology, and real estate industries. His strategic insights and hands-on approach have made him a trusted advisor to businesses seeking to optimize performance and achieve sustainable growth.
Kabani’s consulting practice focuses on guiding clients through critical business stages, including entity formation, management team development, and the creation of robust financial and operational infrastructures. He provides specialized expertise in crafting business and financial plans, developing marketing and merchandising strategies for domestic and international markets, and evaluating executive-level human resource frameworks. Additionally, Kabani leads firm’s information technology practice, advising clients on leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Before joining the firm, Kabani honed his skills over a decade with then Big Eight accounting firms, including several years serving clients in the Middle East. This global experience informs his ability to navigate complex financial and regulatory environments.
Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Kabani holds accounting and law degrees and is a licensed Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Accountant in the United Kingdom. His academic and professional excellence is underscored by prestigious accolades, including the AICPA’s Elijah Watt Sells Award for achieving the highest scores on the Uniform CPA Examination and multiple gold medals for outstanding performance on the Chartered Accountants’ examinations
Kabani is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Certified Public Accountants and several trade and professional associations. He is also a certified mediator with the Los Angeles County Bar Association and has managed several mediations and served as expert witness. He has served on the boards of various professional and community organizations, including the Qualifications Committee of the State Board of Accountancy in California. He has made numerous presentations on business and financial management topics.
As the Tax Partner at Kaufman & Kabani, Glenn oversees the firm’s tax compliance and research departments, bringing over 35 years of public accounting experience to his leadership role. A second-generation Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Glenn combines deep technical expertise with a strategic approach to deliver tailored tax solutions for clients.
Glenn specializes in S-Corporation taxation, multi-state tax strategies, estate planning, and the taxation of real estate investments. He plays a pivotal role in the firm, serving as the final decision-maker for all tax planning initiatives and tax return preparations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal outcomes for clients.
A graduate of Columbia University, Glenn holds an undergraduate degree and earned a Master’s degree in Accounting from California State University, Northridge. He is an active member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), staying at the forefront of industry developments.
Dedicated to knowledge-sharing, Glenn frequently serves as a guest lecturer and presenter for regional trade and professional organizations, offering insights on tax strategies and financial planning. His commitment to community service is equally strong, as he actively participates in his local temple and provides pro bono consulting services to nonprofit organizations, helping them navigate financial and operational challenges.
As a Partner at Kaufman & Kabani, Amin brings over 25 years of expertise in accounting, assurance, business advisory, and financial management services, serving a diverse clientele across various industries. His proficiency extends to managing complex tax planning and compliance engagements, delivering strategic solutions that enhance client success.
Before joining Kaufman & Kabani, Amin gained valuable experience at an international affiliate of PricewaterhouseCoopers, honing his skills in global accounting and advisory practices. A graduate of the University of Karachi, Pakistan, with a concentration in accounting, he holds multiple professional credentials, including California Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, and Cost and Management Accountant. His academic excellence was recognized with the prestigious J.P. Patel Gold Medal for outstanding performance on the Chartered Accountants’ examinations.
Beyond his professional achievements, Amin is deeply engaged in community service. He has served as a Council Member at the Aga Khan Council for the Western United States and previously held the role of Member Finance for the Western Region of the Aga Khan Foundation, USA. In his personal time, Amin is an enthusiastic biker and avid traveler, embracing opportunities to explore new cultures and landscapes.
